The No Barriers presentation consists of Mark's inspirational story of a life-threatening climbing accident, resulting in paraplegia, and his struggle to regain his spirit and strength and to ultimately realize that his adversity was a starting point rather than a finish line. Mark shares some exceptional footage from his video, 'No Barriers,' and continues to move his audience as he presents dramatic documentation of his historic climbs of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, and of the Trans-Sierra Crossing. Mark encourages his audience by showing them what is possible when you refuse to be held back. His presentations also include slide shows which give the viewer a comprehensive example of how various equipment such as bicycles, skis, dry-land trainers and climbing apparatus can be adapted to suit a variety of needs for the disabled.

Using the latest technology in materials and biomechanical concepts, Mark has developed and adapted custom equipment to allow the disabled to enjoy the mountains, rivers, and trails. Mark has instructed and assisted in many climbing seminars throughout the country. His expertise and knowledge has led him to become one of the most highly recognized adaptive climbing instructors today. With the help of equipment experts, he has developed various types of adaptive climbing equipment to help hundreds of disabled climbers achieve their personal goals.
